Jane Hack is the Senior Engagement Officer (Formal Learning) at Bristol Museums, part of Culture & Creative Industries at Bristol City Council.
Bristol Museums runs one of the largest museum learning programmes in the South West, providing a range of facilitated Science, History, English and Art workshops suitable for Key Stages 1- 5. Our museums (Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and M Shed) and historic houses (Blaise Museum, The Red Lodge Museum and The Georgian House Museum) are visited by over 50,000 children and young people in formal education each year.
Alongside our regular science workshops we also work in partnership with the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol. Each year we co-deliver curriculum-related activities such as a Dinosaur Takeover and Rock On week, when children have the opportunity to talk with experts and study rocks, fossils, soils and volcanoes. We are currently extending our science programme to include environmental activities at Blaise Museum & Estate suitable for Key Stages 1-3.
