STEM Learning have created “Starters for STEM” – short prompts to kick off an investigation, activity or discussion – all easily engaged in from home or within bubble classes.
Sheets of 10 starters have been produced weekly since the start of the school closures – so there are loads to get dug into!
Each starter has a link to easy to run activities suitable for children from 4-11.
They are designed with parents and home-learning in mind, so the activities are easy to resource, can be run together with children of different ages, and link to videos that stimulate children to talk about the world around them.
- experimenting with paper aeroplanes
- exploring what you can build with one cup of Lego
- finding out where food in your house has come from
- making a telescope
- observing the moon
- going on a colour walk
Starters for STEM can be found on the STEM Learning website.
