A free -print and play- board game exploring STEM careers has been released with versions available for primary school aged children – 5+ and 10+ options.
Both are available here: https://www.diamond.ac.uk/Public/DiamondTheGame.
The game aims to ignite discussion about the role of science in daily life and science careers in a comfortable environment for families – so plenty of potential for a fun homelearning assignment!
Researchers from the Diamond Light Source and University of Cambridge, originally developed the game for secondary students and saw great results on testing the game with over 200 students.
“It was exciting to see very positive uplifts in the survey results after playing in where they see science in their daily life and in their consideration of STEM careers, as well as over 85% reporting that they had fun!” said one of the creators Claire Murray, Beamline Scientist from Diamond Light Source Ltd.
