There are two local STEM Learning events happening in the area in January, see below.
20 January 2020, 09:00-16:00 – Primary programming and algorithms
The National Centre for Computing Education will equip you to develop children’s knowledge of how technology works, and the skills to make computers follow instructions in simple programs. A range of approaches will be explored, including ‘unplugged’ activities that require no computer, and multimedia activities that allow creativity and promote widespread engagement.
(Teachers may wish to attend teaching and leading key stage 1 or key stage 2 computing before participating in this CPD)
29 January and 3 March, 9:00 – 16:00 – Teaching and leading key stage 2 computing
Thi two day course complements the National Centre for Computing Education’s one-day programming and algorithms event. You will strengthen your knowledge of computer systems and networks, including the internet and technologies such as search engines and email that make use of it. You will demystify computers, developing understanding of data fundamentals such as binary, and learning how the parts of a computer system handle this data to carry out useful tasks.
