Polar Explorer Educational Resources

Polar-Explorer.pngFancy getting your students involved in the polar explorations of the RRS Sir David Attenborough, and its auto long range submersible, Boaty McBoatface??

STEM Learning have put together activity packs for different age groups so that you can engage and enthuse your students in this real world expedition.

The free activity packs, which have great links to the curriculum, can be found here: https://www.stem.org.uk/polar-explorer-educational-resources

To make it easy to pick the activities you want to use, the resources are arranged into 5 categories:

  • Engineering
  • Climate Change
  • Animals, Food Chains, Adaptation
  • Exploration
  • Oceans

In addition to being awesome resources, the activities can be used to gain a CREST SuperStar Award.

CREST Awards

The CREST Awards scheme is the British Science Association’s flagship programme for young people. It is the only nationally recognised accreditation scheme for STEM project work, providing science enrichment activities to inspire and engage 5-to-19-year olds.
