VEX Robotics are offering schools the opportunity to apply for a grant to help towards their participation in the VEX IQ Robotics Challenge.
Grants are available to 10 schools (primary or secondary) in Bristol and 10 in Swindon, and successful grant recipients will receive a VEX IQ Super Kit, VEX IQ Competition Add-on Kit and access to programming software appropriate to their students – well over £400 of free kit and software that can be used year-after-year.
In addition, the kit, software and challenge will be introduced to teachers at a twilight training session delivered by an expert trainer from VEX Robotics and supported by the STEM Ambassador Hub West England. The Bristol training will take place at the University of Bristol School of Education on the 30th October, 4 – 8pm. The Swindon training will take place at the British Computing Society , North Star House, on the 9th October, 4pm to 8pm.
Each team will have at least one linked STEM Ambassador to support the teachers and students (interested STEM Ambassadors should get in touch now to express an interest!)
The commitment from the school is to register a team on the Robot Events website (The team registration fee is £125 to be paid prior to training and is not included in the grant award), attend the regional training, register the team as a STEM Club and attend at least one regional event for the next two years.
So if you’re interested in some great fun with some really great robots get in touch now to start your application!
